Safety on Let's Join
Let's Join is built for spontaneous, in-real-life hangouts with people near you — not for dating, hookups, or anonymous messaging. Here is how we design for safety before you RSVP.
Not a dating app
There is no swiping, no matching algorithm, and no romantic intent baked into the product. Plans are about doing something together in public — coffee, a hike, drinks after work — not finding a date. If someone uses Let's Join for harassment or unwanted romantic pressure, that violates our terms and can lead to account action.
Public venues only
Events must be tied to real, public places — cafés, bars, parks, venues you can find on a map. We do not support private-home meetups as the default model. You should always be able to leave, get help, or step into a busy space if something feels off.
Trust profiles
Before you join a plan, you see a host's track record: trust score, reliability (shows-up rate), events hosted and attended, and badges earned from real check-ins — not bought status. The same applies when someone considers joining your plan. Trust is earned in the open, event by event.
Event-only chat
Messaging is limited to people on the same event — hosts and attendees coordinating time, meeting spot, or practical details. There are no cold DMs to strangers you have never met through a shared plan. That keeps the feed about plans, not inbox spam.
Block and report
You can block someone so they cannot interact with you on the platform. You can report profiles or events that break our rules — harassment, hate, scams, or attempts to move conversation off-platform for unsafe meetups. Reports are reviewed; serious or repeated abuse can result in suspension.
Tips before you go
- Read the host's profile and trust signals before you RSVP.
- Meet at the listed venue at the listed time; tell a friend where you are going.
- Trust your gut — you can leave anytime. No plan is worth feeling unsafe.
- Use in-app chat for coordination; be wary of pressure to switch to private apps.
- Check in when you arrive so your attendance is recorded fairly for everyone.
