Let's Join Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026 · Let's Join · https://letsjoin.app
Let's Join ("Let's Join", "we", "our", "us") operates letsjoin.app and our mobile application worldwide. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and safeguard your data when you use our services.
Data controller: the operator listed in our Imprint (Impressum). Contact: hello@letsjoin.app.
1. Data we collect
We collect personal data to provide and improve Let's Join:
- Account information: email address, authentication identifiers, and sign-in timestamps.
- Profile information: display name, photos, bio, job title, city, vibe tags, optional social handles, birth year (if provided).
- Plans and participation: events you create or join, venues, times, RSVPs, capacity, chat messages within event threads.
- Location data: approximate location or city you provide to show nearby plans — not continuous background tracking unless you grant permission on device.
- Social graph: follows, blocks, and related metadata.
- Device and notifications: push notification tokens, app version, and device type when needed for support or delivery.
- Usage and diagnostics: IP address, browser type, pages visited on letsjoin.app, in-app actions, crash logs — where you have consented to analytics or crash reporting.
- Support and moderation: reports you file, admin actions on your account if applicable.
2. How we use your data
We use your data to:
- Provide, authenticate, and secure the Platform.
- Show nearby plans, profiles, RSVPs, and event-scoped chat.
- Calculate trust and reliability signals shown in the app.
- Send transactional notifications (RSVPs, messages, plan reminders).
- Prevent abuse, enforce Terms, and handle reports.
- Improve performance, fix bugs, and understand product usage (with consent).
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties for their marketing.
3. Legal bases (GDPR)
Depending on the processing, we rely on:
- Contract — to provide the service you signed up for.
- Legitimate interests — security, fraud prevention, product improvement (balanced against your rights).
- Consent — optional analytics, crash reporting on web, push notifications, and precise location where required.
- Legal obligation — tax, accounting, or regulatory requirements.
4. Data sharing
We do not sell your data. We may share information with:
- Other users — as designed (public profile, plan participation, event chat).
- Service providers that help us operate the platform — such as hosting, authentication, email and push delivery, maps and venue search, and customer support — only to provide the service on our instructions.
- Analytics and monitoring providers — only when you consent on the website or enable similar preferences in the app.
- Authorities — when required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety.
Processors are bound by data processing agreements where required under Article 28 GDPR.
5. Cookies and tracking
On letsjoin.app we use essential cookies and, with your consent, analytics and crash-reporting tools. See our Cookie Policy to manage preferences. The mobile app uses equivalent device storage for consent and settings.
6. Data security
We implement industry-standard measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, secure authentication, and monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data retention
We retain personal data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we anonymise or delete personal data within a reasonable period, subject to:
- Legal retention periods (e.g. up to 10 years for accounting records).
- Backup cycles and technical deletion windows.
- Data needed to resolve disputes or enforce Terms.
8. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU/EEA (or where applicable), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request erasure ("right to be forgotten").
- Restrict or object to certain processing.
- Data portability (structured, machine-readable copy).
- Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior lawful processing).
- Lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
To exercise these rights, contact hello@letsjoin.app. You can also delete your account in the Let's Join app (Settings → Account).
9. Children
Let's Join is strictly 18+. By continuing to use the app or website, you confirm that you are 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us and we will delete the account promptly.
10. International transfers
Data may be processed in the European Union and, where necessary, in other countries where our service providers operate. We use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses and processor agreements as required by GDPR Chapter V.
11. Automated decision-making
Trust scores and reliability metrics are calculated from your activity (RSVPs, cancellations, profile completeness). They affect visibility in the app but do not produce legal effects without human review. You may contact us to question significant automated decisions where applicable.
12. Updates to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be posted on letsjoin.app with an updated date. Material changes may be notified in-app or by email.
